Third Thursday’s Open Studio and Classes

Third Thursday Open Studio is a fun, relaxing, and a creative time for Metal Clay artists to gather, network, learn, work on projects, and have access to equipment they might otherwise not have access to.

Open Studio is not a project-based class so bring you own tools, work mat and that project you have been working on. Need help with a project? No worries, I will be there to answer questions and offer assistance. The cost per person is $25. If there’s a specific technique you are interested in or just need some focused help, one hour of one-on-one instruction can be arranged from 5p.m. to 6p.m. for an extra $15.

Equipment available at the Open Studio: Kiln*, Vibrating tumbler, Jool Tool Polisher, Dremel, Dehydrator, Metal Clay Library, resource table. Also available with advanced notice, Trinket Kiln for Keumboo application and Imagepac Stampmaker for making photopolymer textures.

I will place an order for PMC on the second Thursday of each month. Sharing shipping costs is a great way of reducing the cost of materials! So if you need PMC, be sure and place your order with me and I will have your clay waiting for you the night of Open Studio.

Workspace is limited so reserve your space in advance by emailing me at susanbreensilvy@yahoo.com or calling me at (816) 304-8686.

Directions: Take I-29 to the Barry Road exit. If you are coming from the south, turn left (west) onto Barry Road. Go past the main entrance to Zona Rosa. At the intersection of Barry and Congress you will see Park Hill High School on the left. Turn right onto Congress and follow it down the hill and through the two traffic circles. Exit from the second traffic circle back onto Congress and stay in the left lane. Take the first left at the Riverstone sign. That three story building with the covered entrance is Riverstone. The concierge at the desk will direct you to the Open Studio.

* Two firings of PMC3 will be held each session. Depending on need, the early firing may be PMC960 sterling the second PMC3. No carbon firings or torch firings will be allowed.
